We had erectionThere were exciting times that are hard to characterize by words. Thus, I will limit myself to a few statements about the future of the Turbojugend. Herewith, I announce the end of an era: I will leave the Turbojugend on their own and will not anymore coordinate the global Jugend affairs. Being in charge for 15 years, there have been many, many magnificent moments. In retrospective there have been seven Weltturbojugendtage (WTJ(T) I - VII), various other meetings and concerts, the Mailorder with an own Jugend fashion collection, a Jugend documentary on DVD, various appearances on TV and last but not least close friendships all over the world. My thanks go out to all the folks who helped to establish Turbojugend as an unique lifestyle beyond the boundaries of a fan club - you know who you are! Also my chapter, Turbojugend St. Pauli, will not anymore be involved in Jugend affairs. My wish and hope is that also in the future the Turbojugend will be loosely organized by the Jugend veterans all over the world that understand the complex structure of the Jugend, are aware of its history and are connected via friendship, the essence of the Turbojugend. Jugend, this is the end of an era. The mail order is closed, all orders have been processed (if there should be questions about your last order, then please contact bitz@bitzcore.de) and a new team needs to be found for Turbojugend administration. I am delighted about the evolution of the Turbojugend and very thankful about the 15 years we have spent together in denim. I hope to see you in Kutte here and there. Stay tuned, |
An older statementThe Turbojugend started in the late nineties as Turbonegro's Navy. In more than a decade, the Jugend fostered not only the myth of the band but established a common sense for like-minded individuals, manifested in a lifestyle and friendships all over the world. In particular friendship has been the spirit of the Turbojugend from the beginning and this spirit has been essential to keep the Jugend alive. Among other chapters, Turbojugend St. Pauli has cultivated this friendship. Confronted with the Deathpunk Moonshiners, we see this spirit violated and are concerned about the future. Despite being a small online group, the Deathpunk Moonshiners presume to redefine the Turbojugend by neglecting its complex structure that has evolved over time. Persons who discuss how to "gain control", announce TURBOJUGEND".NET will be dead" and plan "little underhanded computer work" to get the Turbojugend database might misinterpret the Jugend as a gang and have lost any sense of decency. In particular, we are worried about the illegal activities announced by the Deathpunk Moonshiners (please find an excerpt from their discussion). As we are concerned about your private data, we have removed TURBOJUGEND.NET from the Internet. TURBOJUGEND.NET might lack state-of-the-art features but this site is still popular and heavily used. We are sad about the removal, but we see this as our only chance to protect your (!) data from the Deathpunk Moonshiners. TURBOJUGEND.NET has always relied on the contribution from various chapters and has been always welcome for suggestions and pro-bono support. Thus, we are interested in your opinion. How do you see the future of the Turbojugend and TURBOJUGEND.NET? Please feel free to join the discussion on Facebook. Balthasar
